Playing the guitar since the age of 12 – as in, 50 years!, – Tom is excited to be playing again at DIR. Spending time in rock bands during high school and college, he took a sabbatical from making music while in medical school at Madison, and his Internal Medicine residency and Nephrology fellowship at Hennepin in Minneapolis. Moving to Green Bay in 1992, Dr. Smith formed the band Crunch Time in 2003 which played at DIR in the early years. The band is still playing some, but he also plays in the band Sweet Acoustics with more focus on mandolin. Currently a hospitalist in Green Bay, he also works as a nephrologist in Oconto Falls.
